GP Hubs – Evening and Weekend Appointments

To help more people who need to be seen urgently by a local doctor same day appointments are available every weekday evening between 09:00 – 21:00 and 08:00 – 20:00 on weekends. The appointments are available to everyone registered with a GP in Redbridge.

You can call the service directly on 0203 649 4499 between 14:00 and 21:00 on weekdays and between 09:00 and 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays all year round for an appointment. NHS 111 can also book you into a GP hub if you need an urgent appointment.

The three GP hubs which offer urgent appointments are at Southdene Surgery in South Woodford, Newbury Group Practice in Newbury Park and Fulwell Cross Medical Centre in Barkingside.

To make it even easier to be seen, it is now possible to book appointments for Friday evening, Saturdays and Sundays from Thursdays each week, rather than on the day. Appointments must be booked in advance, you can’t ‘walk in’ or turn up without an appointment on the day.

The GPs can see and update your records in the appointment so it is no different to seeing a doctor at your usual practice.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 11:00 am if you require a home visit. We cover IG6 and IG7 catchment area for home visit only.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

A self-referral can be made for our CTT team if needed by using the following link:
